Nature's Secret Ingredient

The United Nations was formed on January 1, 1942. A total of 26 nations pledged to fight the axis powers together and save the world from certain tyranny. Today, the United Nations has 193 member nations. Although the organization's usefulness is debatable, the original spirit remains intact. The Charter of the United Nations states that one of the purposes is, "To achieve international co-operation in solving international problems of an economic, social, cultural, or humanitarian character, and in promoting and encouraging respect for human rights and for fundamental freedoms for all without distinction as to race, sex, language, or religion; and to be a centre for harmonizing the actions of nations in the attainment of these common ends."

In recent years, the two major political parties of the United States government have experienced serious difficulty with coming together to solve the nation's problems. Due to this lack of cooperation, there are far-reaching consequences that have affected the daily lives of people in this country and beyond.

We only need to look to nature to understand that cooperation/teamwork is a necessity.

Not only is it a necessity, it is a natural occurrence. All living things cooperate in one way or another, knowingly and unknowingly. This is evident from the microscopic level to the largest of mammals.

Teamwork is the secret ingredient in all of Mother Nature's recipes. As humans, we should be more mindful of nature, including our interactions with it. We should take a moment to see as it is, as a witness; observing the subtle and not so subtle actions, interactions and outcomes.

The spirit of teamwork should be expressed through our work with others, and our relationships with family and friends. This expression is the basic understanding that we are stronger as a whole. It is realizing that we truly do need each other to survive.

On an individual level, our survival depends on our interaction and communication with other humans. On a larger scale, in concert with nature, we must learn from each other and work together to ensure our survival and progression. We should all strive to give 100% toward this effort, realizing that not moving forward with focus and positive intent will cause unnecessary suffering for all.
